5k Learn to Run

This is a 6 week training program designed for all age levels.  Whether you are looking to run a 5k for the first time or are looking to improve your 5k performance time, this is the class for you!  There are usually two sessions throughout the year…one in the Spring and one in the Fall.  The class meets once/week in the evening to walk/run as a group in various locations in close proximity to the store and address the weekly subject topic.  These topics include and are not limited to nutrition, hydration, stretching, strength training, equipment, form training, and pacing.  Every participant will receive a training log to record the weekly training requirements.  Any issues, concerns, and guidance will be addressed as a whole on the evening the group meets.  Graduation will be held at a local 5k at the end of the 6 weeks.  Although participation is not required, it is strongly encouraged that you register for the race to accomplish your goal!

Requirements: Participants should be able to walk comfortably most days of the week for at least 30min.


Half Marathon Learn to Run

This is an 8 week training program designed for all age levels.  Whether you are looking to run a half marathon for the first time or are looking to improve your half marathon performance time, this is the class for you!  There is only one session currently throughout the year in the Spring.  The class meets once/week in the evening or weekend morning to run as a group in various locations in close proximity to the store and address the weekly subject topic.  These topics include and are not limited to nutrition, hydration, stretching, strength training, equipment, form training, and pacing.  Every participant will receive a training log to record the weekly mileage and training requirements.  Graduation usually takes place at the Lehigh Valley Half Marathon.  Although participation is not required since there is race participant cutoff, it is strongly encouraged that you register for another half marathon shortly after the course has concluded.

Requirements: Participants should be able to run comfortably for at least 5-6 miles as their long run.
